As you grow…

Adalyn & Andrew as you grow…

When you grow big and you dream about what you will become ask yourself:

What do I want to see change in our world?

How do I want to be a part of that?

How will I leave my mark?

Will this make me happy?

Will it make me proud of myself?

Seek what inspires you, be relentless in your dreams and never get discouraged.

Trust the talents God gave you. It is never too late to use them.

When you cant find your path or the road ahead seems unclear…

Know that’s ok..

Work hard at something you enjoy, whatever that is.

Put your faith in God and in due time, your path will reveal itself to you.

Not everyone finds their path right away.

Sometimes, hard situations push us to the right path.

You do not have to be fulfilled in wealth to feel fulfilled in your heart.

Know that your momma is proud of you everyday for I know who you truly are and the pure kindness in your heart. Sometimes we make mistakes and make bad decisions. This doesn’t mean we are bad people. Forgive yourself often and others around you. Always be kind to others and keep a smile on your face.

Please know I will always be there for you and I am so glad everyday that I get to be your momma.

Love, Momma

The Joy of My Life

Having children has been the joy of my life. I believe the meaning of life is finding whatever your joy in life is. My joy has been becoming a mother to Adalyn & Andrew. In my experience children show me the meaning of life everyday. Playing & laughing with a child can warm your heart like nothing else can. There is no greater sound in the world than hearing your child laugh & there is nothing sweeter than seeing your child smile. Seeing my son’s corners of his lip peak up on both sides of his binky when he smiles is a big reason I can’t think of weaning him from it yet. It gets me every time. When my daughter laughs it is so contagious you laugh instantaneously. Her laugh is infectious and can change your soul in an instant. Children are my life’s greatest blessing. At the end of each day I tell my babies “I am so glad I get to be your momma.” To me, becoming a parent makes life just make sense.

Baby’s First Year! Baby Shower Poem

Baby’s First Year!

A Baby Shower Poem I wrote for a friend on May 12, 2012 after experiencing my daughter’s first year.

Baby’s first year will go by so fast.  Hold your little one tight because it won’t last.

Baby (Last Name) will be walking & talking before too long. You will find yourself rhyming or singing her a funny song.

There will be so many memorable firsts.  Things she will do to make your heart burst.

Rolling over and cutting teeth. Things she will learn to climb beneath.

Take pictures as often as you like.  She grows in her sleep and gets bigger over night!

Holidays will become magical again.  So it’s important she has an outfit for every occasion then.

First you will celebrate the 4th of July.  Picnics, lots of people, hand sani…oh my!!!

Halloween and trick or treating comes next.  Please send us all lots of pics via text!

Baby gets her first bite of mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving.  All she has had is milk so far, so this is finally living!

Christmas is the best one yet.  Presents & memories you will never forget!

Valentines Day she’ll be dressed in hearts and pink.  She will receive cards from boys sooner than you think!

No more green beer on St. Patty’s Day.  We are grown ups now and you won’t care any way!

By Easter she could be crawling.  If she’s not.. don’t start bawling.

Babies will go at their own pace.  Be patient and always keep a big smile on your face!

Being a mom is the most wonderful thing you will ever do.  Somehow you learn to manage your time more efficiently than you ever knew!

Sleepless nights, crying, and diapers galore.  You will love her more and more.

Her First Birthday will too soon be here.  Her laugh will be the best sound you will ever hear!

Enjoy every moment Mom & Dad, take it all in!  This incredible journey of parenthood is just about to begin!
